Load Cell Info : Glossary

calibration - the process of measuring a load cell's output at various known loads
capacity - the maximum load that a load cell is designed to accurately and reliably measure
eccentric load - a load parallel to, but not aligned with, the primary measuring direction of the load cell
frequency response - the maximum and minimum frequencies of load change that the cell is capable of accurately measuring
full scale - the output of the load cell at its maximum rated load
load - the force applied to the load cell - what is being measured
primary axis - the direction in which the load cell is designed to measure
resolution - the smallest change in load that will create a measureable change in load cell output
sensitivity - the ratio of the change in output to the change in physical force applied to the cell
zero balance - the output of the load cell when no load is applied to it
